  • Pint a giant sticker :

How to print a giant sticker ? You have to be careful when you are printing it !

Giant sticker

Do you need help to do it ? Ok let's go !

- At the beginning of the internship, with another intern, we had to print a stickers length of 2m13 (this is the sticker that you can see in the picture) It was a little bit complicated. In fact, In fact because of its large size, we had to take it back several times. Every time we printed it, something was wrong.

  • Colorful stickers :

How to make a stickers with several colors ? It's not really complicated. You just have to be creatif and meticulous !

Colorful stickers

- To make the stikers that you can see on the picture it's easy. You have to draw your stickers on Inkscape, with as many colors as you want. When it's done, you have to save each color separately.

- So, to make this stickers, I drew it on inkscape. There are four colors, so four different files. Before to save my drawing, I have selected this one and in "file", I have chosen "document properties". In this window, I have chosen "" and put 2mm for each margin, this allows you to adjust the size of the page to your drawing. After that in "fill and stroke" I put the right parameters : "Fill" : the cross, Stroke paint: the second square and I have chosen red (255). In Stroke style, I have put mm, and put 0.02 mm on width. After that I had to choose "mirror", in fact, the stikers is glued inside the fablab, whereas the reading of the sticker is done on the other side of the window, outside the fablab. You can find the mirror function in the toolbar situated above your drawing page.

- When it's done, you have to save each color separately. So I put aside the colors I didn't want to save, and I saved one color as a pdf. I clicked on "Ctrl+z" to replace each color in its place (it's important to save each color to its exact place on the page). After that, I saved an another color, and so on.

-When all your colors are saved, You can go print !

- First, I have chosen my first color. I have chosen the corresponding file and I started printing ( If you don't remenber the steps to print, return to the previous page ! ).

- When all the colors are print, take of the background of each stickers, and take the transfer tape (This is now that you need to be meticulous!).

-After doing this, I sticked the stickers on a piece of transfer tape (The non-sticky side on the transfer tape) in their exact place relative to each other ( don't forget to remove the bubble when you stick your stikers on the transfer tape).

- Now all your stickers are on the transfer tape, Great ! You can now stick it ! To do that, you have first to clean the glass. After, wet the glass in order to be able to stick, and to move your stickers if you need it. Remove the Bubble, and wait until it's dry to remove the transfer tape.

- Your stickers is stick ! That's Beautiful !
