John H. Lewis Jr., has worked in the software, analytics and fund management industries for 34 years. He is an Associate Professor at IEA – Gustav Eiffel and co-director of the Masters program in Portfolio Management and responsible for the pedogology in the masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He provides training, mentoring and funding for early stage startups through his investment firm and accelerator Tektos. He founded the Fablab Cote d’Opale in Calais France. John previously founded the accelerator Dojoboost and the government supported accelerator Le Camping in Paris. Before advising startups, he sold three financial software startups he founded.

Before working in financial software startups, he created quantitative products and was a portfolio manager of pension funds at Putnam, NatWest Investment Management and PanAgora Asset Management. Early in his career, John held analysis and technology positions at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris and McGraw-Hill/Data Resources Inc. in Washington DC.

His research interests are in venture capital, credit risk and portfolio management.

John earned a BA in computer science from the University of Georgia and an MS in financial economics from Boston University. He is currently completing his PhD in finance at Imperial College where he taught classes in corporate finance, derivative valuation, advanced valuation and advanced portfolio management.
