I made the Cake plate stand in Inkscape and used the lasercutter to engrave and cut it in 5 mm thick plexiglass. To use up the material, I filled out the empty spaces with Christmas ornaments. I had a problem with cutting so thick plexiglass and in the end I needed four rounds to cut it through. Next time I will use thinner plexiglass to cut out Christmas ornaments.

My name is Rósa María Vésteinsdóttir and I am student in FabLab 1036 in FNV (Fjölbrautarskóli Norðurlands vestra) in Sauðárkrókur.

FabLab 1036

It is always interesting to learn new things, FabLab is no exception from that.

Projects

The first project I did was to take pitcure of my favorite horse and work with it in Inkscape. My goal was to use the horse to design a form that I could use later on to make souvenirs. I used the Epiloglaser cutter to cut out the first form in thick paper.
