How to make Rubber mould Prerequisite Mould made from wax, soft wax, wood, or hard clay. In this process we used wax mould milled on MODELLA Image1

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND CARE TO TAKE

  1. make sure that your mold is milled completely and it appears as per design.
  2. make sure that mold have sufficient space to accommodate liquid rubber compound.
  3. Mold should not leak liquid rubber compound.
  4. There should be enough space above milled mold/impression so that liquid rubber compound raise sufficiently to strengthen and accommodate full impression
  5. Use disposable nitrile hand gloves while handling liquid rubber compound and casting powder

Step1

  1. Use liquid rubber compound containing one bottle of Urethane mold compound and Rubber mold compoundIMG 0680.JPG
  2. Take equal amount of both the compounds.IMG 0681.JPG
  3. Mix it thoroughly and gently so that there should not be any air entrapment in the mixture.IMG 0682.JPG
  4. After mixing and stirring of both compounds are over. the mixture is ready to pour over the object/Impression
  5. Pour Liquid rubber compound slowly and gently over the milled object make sure that it should raise little above the height of object.Image.JPG
  6. wrap the filled mold in aluminum foil from surrounding and keep it in baking ovenIMG 0684.JPG

Step2

  1. Set oven temp at 150 deg Celsius and time 1:00 Hr
  2. Start oven and bake it for set time (1Hr)

Step3

  1. Remove mold from oven after set time is over and allow it to cool up to room temperature
  2. Remove the solid rubber mold cavity gently from the wax impression IMG 0690.JPG
  3. Mold cavity is ready for pouring of plastic or Instamold or Drystone powder
  4. In this process dry stone powder is used.IMG 0692.JPG
  5. Mix the powder gently with the water, in such a way that, first take water in a cup add 1/3rd of powder stir it again repeatedly add powder in to the water until it converted into slurry.Never add water in the powder add powder into the water.IMG 0695.JPG
  6. Now pour the slurry gently into the mold cavity until the mold cavity is fully filled.IMG 0698.JPG
  7. keep the mold cavity for curing up to 1-1:50hr or until it becomes solid and then remove gently the part from cavity.
