Getting my head around this wiki

Thanks for taking care of creating users. I'm a little confused, however, with the scope of this wiki and who maintains the content. A lot of the stuff here is general FabLab stuff that seems like it should be rather maintained somewhere centrally than on the Icelandic FabLab Wiki.

I can also not find a local place to discuss content, policies and such (like the MediaWiki projects I've taken part in). Could you tell me who best to chat to regarding the content here, and do you know whether the bulk of the current content just copied over from another wiki to provide an idea for the structure, or is the intention that it be maintained?

Cheers, --Martin (talk) 11:09, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi Martin

this *is* the general FabLab wiki and it is maintained by the global community (or rather those within the community who care about maintaining it). Frosti has initially instigated us to do so, so he could be a good person to talk to. I am also closely monitoring what is going on here. You're right, there is no meta discussion, but you're welcome to start such a section. My guess, however, would be that it would remain relatively quiet ...

Thanks! That (and a quick glance at fabfolk.com) explains a lot. I'm going to browse around and have a chat with Frosti. I've been meaning to contact him about something else for a while now. --Martin (talk) 17:34, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
