Laser cutting a lamp

Lamp for the long dark nights

I had learned how to make a snap fit box and wanted to use the same technique to make a lamp with some laser cutting in it. I had already been making some tests withe this crochet pattern to a cardboard, mdf and plexy. I had to edit the picture quite a lot because it was so detailed but I think it was worth it. In this case I did the box first in MakerCase and then did some adjustments in Inkscape.

I added the picture to each side and also did the offset to each piece so the pieces would fit nice and thight. I did one test cut with thick cardboard to see if the design looks good but I did not actually test to see if the pieces fit together or not. I was feeling confident about it beacuse I had done some litlle boxes before with the same material. I would advice people to first test that the pieces fit and then cut out all the pieces. It took about 1,5 hours to cut the pieces at one go.
