I got the idea of making my own little frame loom, because I have been making little | I got the idea of making my own little frame loom, because I have been making little jewellery items with a big frame loom and it´s not the best way to do it. You can also easily carry the little frame loom with you and you can use the frame anywhere. There´s a lots of different kinds of looms that you can buy and I did some research before I draw my own loom. I decided to stay in the basic shape and make it as simple as possible. It was fun to do a product that I know is going to be useful to me :) | ||
First I draw the design in Inkscape. The only little difficult part was to decide the warps thickness so that it would be useful for me. I decided to make two little frame looms in one go so I could have one frame loom for more fine yarn as well. The actual laser cutting was done with standard mdf settings (DPI 300, speed 12, power 100, freq 500). I also tried to use the material as well as I could and also did a little shuttle and a spatula at the same time. The shuttle isn´t perfect but I can used it and it was a nice test piece. Did have to sand it to make it a little bit softer in the edges. |
