Fab Lab Boot Camp 2011 What a week. Crash course indeed. Below are the images of the projects I have completed (Files to follow soon)
My name is Joshua Best. I am the coordinator for Incite Focus, a program that takes place at Blanche Kelso Bruce, a school in Detroit, Michigan. We operate our Fab Lab in conjunction with a solar focus, a permaculture focus, and an experiential education focus.
This is a Tee Shirt I created using the vinyl cutter to create a "screen". The process is the reverse of "normal" weeding. Removing all of the material that you would normally leave in order to create the negative of what you would like on your shirt. In this example I applied the vinyl directly to the shirt. You can, however, apply it to a silk screen and do a run of shirts.
Some other items created during the week. These include a name badge, a Tic Tac Toe/ Achi board (Achi rules available on wikipedia), a practice circuit, and two simple press fit boxes. I also made a sign for my office on the shop bot.
I choose to make my music box on the shop bot using a tab and slot idea and including inlays for laser etched tiles. Above is the side panel.
