1st Project Requirements

1) The students will create an account on the ICELAND FAB WIKI. Due: XX/XX/XX

2) The students will start a discussion thread and introduce themselves and share areas of interest. Due: XX/XX/XX

3) The students will continue discussion threads and work together to form groups based upon their interests and commonalities. Due: XX/XX/XX

4) The students will create a project in their home FAB LAB using the only the laser engraver and commonly available materials to students in either location. This project will be a prototype of a gift to be given to the students in the other location. Due: XX/XX/XX

6) The student groups will continue discussion threads and suggest ideas for a 2nd project. Due: XX/XX/XX

  • The second project should be technical in nature.
  • The project must have at least 2 major subsystems that function together.
  • One lab will create a portion of the project (2 times) and the other will create the other portion.
  • The halves will then be shipped to the other lab and assembled by the students so that each lab will have a functioning mechanism.
  • The final project will be approved by both instructors.
