Self replicating robot:

Features:

rotating cutting table

Scanner for 3d scanning

arm for assembly

motor and cutter head assembly

will have drawers for bits and machine parts needed for reproduction, marked with bar-codes.

Arm and cutter head will be able to move on all axis


uses:

Cutting table will be able to use both laser and bit cutting

arm will be the main assembly unit

scanner will check for defects and reject any flawed pieces.

Bar code scanner to get the right parts out of the drawers.

The robot will have an articulated arm for assembling the machine, it will have an 3d cutter for making the parts of the robot, it will solder the connections in an solder bath. It will cut out the print plates to assemble the main-board of the machine.

The main chassis of the machine will be made out of plastic, becaus it's both cost and weight beneficial. it will basically be a mutated shopbot with soldering and assembly capabilities.
