This website (http://www.FabLabsUK.co.uk) was set up by James Hardiman, not as a Fab Lab, but as a source of information to encourage people, especially in the south of the UK, to set up Fab Labs, without feeling that they needed to pay massive consultancy fees.

I first fell in love with Fab Labs when I visited Protospace.nl several years ago. Since then I have visited several Fab Labs around the world, including Sarasota, Florida, and Barcelona and Valldaura.

I am currently working with six groups in the UK who are working towards setting up Fab Labs.

I am especially keen to be involved with a Fab Lab that is situated in a Fabbed building (Wikihouse) and uses equipment that is Fabbed from Open Source designs.
