Lyngen

To present the context and the local resources available for the project information regarding the business makeup of Lyngen is helpful. The economic base of Lyngen is fairly diversified. Declines in the fishing industry have led to a larger portion of the private sector coming from agriculture, industry, and small business. Tourism has been identified as an area Lyngen would like to concentrate on in the future. The structure of Lyngen's workforce is similar to that of the surrounding area but with a slightly higher portion working in Public administration compared to the national statistics.

Chart show the diversity of the business setting in Lyngen. Beging from 2004 is does not account for the fishery crisis of 2005 which resulted in a large reduction of 50 FTE in the fish production category (Secondary fishing industry).
