Jose Perez de Lama, aka osfa, these days i am one of the directors for the (new to the network) Fab Lab Sevilla, Spain, founded in 2009 [1]. I work as professor and subdirector at the School of Architecture at the University of Sevilla that houses and supports the fablab [Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura Universidad de Sevilla]. I have a PhD in Architecture.

Our main interest in fabrication is related to its social applications, within a frame of free culture and collective intelligence; - without forgetting creative, artistic dimensions.

I have worked for more than ten years with the group hackitectura.net [2] involved with free software, urban space and social networks. One of the projects we have dedicated more time during these years is named WikiPlaza, a concept and a collection of urban scale prototypes focused on the application of free software and p2p production to the rethinking of the contemporary city. We just published a nice book about this project - with editions both in Spanish and English.

Another activity that i participated, which i hope could be relevant to this network, was the foundation of Indymedia Estrecho [3] (2003) where i was very active until 2007-2008. I also was a contributor to Los Angeles Indymedia, at the time of its foundation in 2000, and Chiapas Indymedia, again during its foundation in 2001.

I read a lot; right now i am reading Gregory Bateson's Steps to an Ecology of Mind.

Everyone in our team is very enthusiastic and happy to join the fab lab network! (10.08.2011)
